Disability Concerns

Key Concerns

Take a look at some of the key concern areas that we seek to address.

An estimated 1.3 billion people live with disabilities—that’s 1 in 7 people.

People with disabilities are the world’s largest minority (15% of the global population).

They are present in all people groupings, speaking all languages, and populating all cultures.

Yet they are a hidden group—either due to shame or stigma, or because of inaccessibility.

Therefore, even those who live in largely evangelised people groups remain significantly unreached.

Most disabled people have not found their place or opportunity for service in a local church.

Core Ambition

How can we see the church being a loving community that is welcoming to all so all may hear and spread the good news of Christ’s salvation?

We want to see the church bringing in, building up and sending out those who have disabilities.

‘Go out quickly… and bring in the poor, the crippled, those blind and lame… so that my house will be full.’

Luke 14:21, 23

Take a moment to pray for someone you know with a disability—that their place and potential in the church and its mission would be fully realised.

So what can we do?

Value all people including those with disabilities as image-bearers of our great God and who deserve dignity.
