Addressing Persecution and Suffering in the World
The fourth day of the Fourth Lausanne Congress in Incheon, South Korea, focused on the topic of persecution. Speakers, panelists, and participants discussed sensitive subjects such as suffering, mourning for the lost, and advocating for freedom for the persecuted, while also celebrating the courage, faith, and testimony of those living in these difficult circumstances.
The day concluded with a powerful reminder to the global church that “suffering and persecution are not the end of the story,” and that the sacrifices of our persecuted brothers and sisters are not in vain. During the evening session, participants engaged in a time of intercession for the 50 countries where Christians face the most extreme persecution. It was a truly anointed time of prayer and worship, as our hearts were drawn to the many countries enduring persecution in their pursuit of following Christ.
