How to choose the Best Fitbit Charge 5 Bands

Since 2007, Fitbit has been consistently releasing breakthrough smartwatches and fitness trackers. The latest Fitbit Charge 5 hit the market by storm on August 25, 2021.

For the first time, a Fitness Tracker combined all you could expect from a fitness tracker and came with numerous health sensors and algorithms allowing you to monitor heart rate, blood oxygen saturation, and stress by relying on a dedicated Electro Dermal Activity sensor and even an FDA cleared electrocardiogram.

The Fitbit Charge 5 is tiny: 0.90 in (22.79 mm). Height: 0.44 in (11.20 mm). Weight: 0.03 lb (15.0 g). Its discreet form factor will mostly be linked to the associated band.

Bands are easily removed by pressing on the two clips on each side of the tracker screen. Changing from one style to another takes less than 10 seconds, so why not match your bracelet to your mood and activities.

When receiving the Fitbit Charge 5, you will receive two different sizes infinity bands. This band is made of a flexible silicone material similar to that used in many sports watches, and it has a silicone loop and peg closure to keep the band in place while not in use. In addition, this band is made of a water-resistant material.

Even though the Infinity band is comfortable to wear, its material can make the band feels sticky when exercising, hence making it uncomfortable to wear. Also, after showering with it, which is not a great idea, we ended up experiencing skin rashes which made us consider looking for a new band.

Even if the Fitbit Charge 5 is a new model, there are plenty of bands to choose from. The critical distinction to consider is that some of them are Fitbit Branded, hence relatively expensive (in the $20 range) when considering the $100 price tag of the Charge 5, and others are unbranded and come at a cheaper price (around $10.)

Even if the Infinity loop is useful as a go-to band, it lacks some definitive fitness-oriented characteristics, the sports band aimed at bridging the gap between the streets and the gym.

The sport band is made of silicone and comes in two sizes and five different colors (black, black cherry, deep sea, which is a nuance of blue, frost white, and frosted lilac, which is pink).

The Sport Band does not come with a peg closure system which can be challenging to use but with an aluminum double buckle that offers good resistance even while exercising. The band’s perforations add to the breathability and comfort as a helpful addition.

Most users like the Fitbit Charge 5 Sport Band, even if its price, in the $30 range, may be considered an obstacle.

Fitbit Charger 5 Hook & Loop Band

The Hook & Loop Band is made of nylon, and recycled polyester, making it very comfortable to wear. It snaps very easily. This band is easy to adjust thanks to the no buckle, no peg closure mechanism.

We love that the fabric does not lead to any rubbing on the skin. So in that sense, this band is excellent for those with sensitive skin.

It looks great for daily wear and gym sessions. Just make sure to remove it before taking a shower or a bath. Also, we do not advise using it when swimming.

Even if we did not experience such an issue, some users complained that the velcro attachment mechanism was not strong enough to maintain the tracker firmly, potentially leading to the risk of losing the tracker.

Fitbit Charge 5 Premium Leather Band

Fitness trackers are not known to be stylish but functional. It doesn’t mean that they do not deserve a stylish leather band.

Fitbit provides just that. The Charge 5 Premium Horween® Leather Bands is a premium bracelet that will change how your Fitbit Charge 5 will look and make it fit for boardrooms and not only the gym.

When considering that the bracelet price is nearly half of the tracker’s price, we do not see ourselves buying it. But, in the end, this is a personal choice, and for those who want to add style to fitness, this leather bracelet is the one to consider, especially when considering that it comes in two colors: plum and black.

Fitbit Charge 5 Unbranded Bands

The unbranded brands are much more affordable when it comes to the prices. Offered by many unknown brands, they offer various choices from metal to fabric, silicone, and much more.

Do not expect the same quality, though but with a price tag in the $10 price range, they are an excellent opportunity to build a collection and change your bracelet depending on your mood.
