As we prioritize the discipleship of children, we cannot forget the most vulnerable. Today, the challenges facing orphaned and vulnerable children around the world are significant and past solutions are falling short in meeting their holistic needs—mind, body, and spirit. It is time to rethink orphan care, and give every child the chance to experience the love and belonging of a family.

Research has shown that children in residential facilities, such as children’s homes or orphanages, experience developmental delays, poor health, and trouble attaching to and trusting others. Fortunately, there is growing evidence that family-based models, such as biological parents and relatives, as well as foster care and adoption, are having better outcomes on children’s well-being around the world.

Join us to discuss best practices in orphan care ministry, and strategies that are working to ensure holistic care and protection of orphaned and vulnerable children with specific examples from Kenya and several other countries around the world. We will have the pleasure to hear Peter K. Muthui, Founding Partner of Child in Family Focus – Kenya, and Elli Oswald, Executive Director of the Faith to Action Initiative.

This webinar is hosted by the combined effort of the Faith to Action Initiative and the Lausanne Children and Family Issue Network.
