The Global Church Together in God’s Mission
The seventh day of the Fourth Lausanne Congress in Incheon, South Korea, focused on a rededication to global mission and the signing by thousands of participants of the Collaborative Action Commitment, a one-page paper that affirms an intentional response to the Great Commission.
In closing of the Fourth Lausanne Congress, Lexie Newsome and Bryn Gillette, together with CEO Michael Oh, revealed the 5th painting, created in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Lausanne Movement and as the final piece of the four-painting collection released in 2019. As a powerful symbol of reconciliation and peace, Korean Rev. Jaehoon Lee and the chairperson of the Japan Lausanne Committee, Masanori Kurasawa, presided over communion, which was shared with all participants. Finally, Accelerate—a platform to access and download helpful resources from the Lausanne Movement—was launched. In his closing speech, Michael Oh reminded us once again that the Great Commission is everyone’s responsibility.
